Easter Saturday

The past few years the Easter Bunny has brought our baskets on the Saturday before Easter.  We have really liked this tradition because the kids get all the fun of the Easter baskets without it interfering with the true meaning of Easter.  As a result, our Easter Sundays have been more meaningful.  This year was a little rushed because Nathan, Nate, and Haley were leaving for China that afternoon.

Nathan loves to bake and cook (which I adore him all the more for).  He has been really enjoying making one of his favorite desserts, "Wacky Cake".  He'll make it every so often and the last time he made it he said we really needed a sifter because the recipe called for one but he's been getting by without it.  Well, his concern was noted and he got a sifter in his Easter basket.  He was really surprised to get it and enjoyed playing with it.  I got a big kick out of watching him!  Simple Pleasures!

Our sweet baby girl!  She got the necklace in her basket. She loved opening up the plastic eggs and finding lots of "money" (that's what she calls candy).
