This year, Nathan got to go with Nate to Scout Camp. Nathan was only able to stay until Wednesday, but he really enjoyed his time at camp. They had a little adventure driving to the camp. Everyone was following Nathan ("the one who had not been to this camp before"). They left late afternoon and were supposed to be to camp around 7 or 8 that night. I got a text from Nathan at 8:30 pm "apparently there are two Camp Phillips Scout Camps in Wisconsin". They had to back track 2 1/2 hours! They pulled in to the right Camp Phillips around 10:00 pm. Nathan said that the boys handled the extra driving time well.
The picture below was taken at 7:43 p.m. at the wrong Camp Phillips.
The right Camp Phillips. This photo was taken at 10:19 pm.
Wait, is that a tick? Nate found the first of the two ticks he got while at Scout Camp. His friend, Jacob (sitting on Nate's left) came to the rescue with his leatherman and pulled it out of Nate's leg and then squished it with a satisfying "crunch".
Nate went fishing a lot while at camp.
Jacob and Nate outfitted for the zip line.
Nate earned 5 merit badges while at camp. They were Environmental Science, First Aid, Astronomy, Reptile and Amphibian Study, and Space Exploration. We are so proud of his hard work! Great job Nate!
